# Request validation for selected devices

> Request CHAD validation (day-zero burn-in) for a selected device set.

The manual/backfill producer for fm.device.validation-requested: the
primary use is kicking validation across an already-enrolled fleet.
chad_ignore=True devices are excluded in the enqueue query, so the operator
flips chad_ignore off first, then requests validation. Writes nothing to the
Device rows — it only enqueues the kick; CHAD pulls authoritative state.

``devices_requested`` is the number of devices a validation kick was
        enqueued

for — i.e. the selected devices excluding ``chad_ignore=True`` ones and
        any

that no longer exist. It is not the size of the input set.
