# Overview

> How Fleet Manager deployments are structured and which guides to use for site rollout.

Fleet Manager deployment work spans more than the application itself.
Standing up a new site requires coordinated changes across Kubernetes, secrets, inventory,
OpenStack, [DHCP](../start-here/glossary#dhcp), PKI, and hardware-test infrastructure.

## Deployment Model

Fleet Manager is deployed as a hub plus one or more satellites.

* The **hub** provides the API and the global control-plane view
* Each **satellite** is scoped to a site and runs workflow workers, agents, and site-local configuration

That split is important for credentials, PKI trust, and network locality.

## What A New Site Needs

A new site deployment typically requires:

* an agreed deployment identifier such as `glo1` or `sta1`
* Kubernetes clusters for the target environments
* [devices](../start-here/glossary#node) and config context in [NetBox](../start-here/glossary#netbox)
* [1Password](../start-here/glossary#1password) vaults and service-account tokens
* OpenStack application credentials and [IPA](../start-here/glossary#ironic-python-agent) image configuration
* DHCP server access and restart controls
* [SLURM](../start-here/glossary#slurm) connectivity for [burn-in](../start-here/glossary#burn-in) and validation workflows

## Use These Pages

* [Site Dependencies & External Systems](./new-site-deployment/dependencies-and-external-systems) for the prerequisite systems and ownership boundaries
* [OpenStack Application Credentials](./new-site-deployment/openstack-application-credentials) for the required [Ironic](../start-here/glossary#ironic), [Placement](../start-here/glossary#placement), and [Nova](../start-here/glossary#nova) access rules
* [Deploy Fleet Manager at a New Site](./new-site-deployment/deploy-fleet-manager-at-a-new-site) for the rollout sequence
* [Site Validation](./new-site-deployment/site-validation) for post-deployment checks
* [PKI & Certificate Trust](./pki-and-certificate-trust) for hub/satellite trust setup
